IMPORTANT CAMPING INFORMATION

GATE COMBINATION: All campers will get the gate combination at time of check-in.
CAMPING EQUIPMENT/VEHICLES: Two vehicles per site. The number of tents/trailers per site depends on the size of the site. All camping equipment and vehicles must be kept on the camp pad or driveway to the pad. Overflow parking is available at the Visitor Center.
CAMPING REGULATIONS: Occupancy is limited to 6 people per site, including children. At least one person must be 18 years or older. All campers must be registered by 10:00 pm. Check-in is at 3:00 pm – campers may occupy a site sooner than 3:00 pm if the site is vacant. Many of us arrive by noonish on Friday and have no problem getting on our sites to set up. If you can’t arrive before 10:00 pm on Friday, it’s best to come on Saturday morning. Many folks also do this.
We always took our kids out of school early for this weekend so we could get there and get set up before dark.

CAMPFIRES: Campfires are permitted in the fire ring only, except during times when a burning ban may be in effect. Campfires must be attended at all times, extinguished before going to bed at night, and upon departure.

FIREWOOD RESTRICTION: Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property. Firewood can be purchased at the Park.

SWIMMING: Lifeguards are on duty from 11 am to 6 pm daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
ALCOHOL POLICY: The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all areas of the park with the exception of interior areas of motorhomes.

PARK EMERGENCIES: After office hours, Contact PARK WATCH: 1-800-825-PARK (7275)
QUIET HOURS: Quiet time will be maintained in the campground from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
CAMPGROUND VISITORS: When the Park is filled to capacity, visitors to the campground will not be allowed in until/unless the Park reopens. Visitors must pay a service charge and exit the campground by 10:00 pm. Memorial Day Weekends, $5/person. The park always fills up since this is a holiday weekend. Make sure your visitors come early in the day!
